Tooleybuc Kid has returned to racing in exceptional condition this time and will be aiming to secure a third-consecutive win in the 2015 Warrnambool Cup having taken out each of the Off The Track Plate (2000m) and Pakenham Cup (2000m) in recent weeks.

Carrying a similar form line to his stable mate, Tall Ship has debuted to Australian racing in great form this year; overcoming a tune-up run for eighth in the Mitavite Challenge Heat 5 (1400m) with three consecutive wins, including both the Stawell Cup (2000m) and Terang Cup (2150m).

Thrilled with his two-pronged attack in the 2015 Warrnambool Cup, Weir, who saddled Akzar to a comfortable win in the 2014 edition of the race, is confident the conditions of the race will play into the strengths of both Tooleybuc Kid and Tall Ship.

“Tall Ship has gone into the race through the easier path, winning the Stawell and Terang Cups, whereas Tooleybuc Kid won at Caulfield and then the Pakenham Cup and there’s only two-and-a-half kilos between them at the weights,” Weir told Racing Victoria.

“They’re both fit and well and a heavy track wouldn’t worry me, it would suit all of my runners.

“If it got really wet then it might bring Count Encosta into it.”

Tooleybuc Kid has posted an impressive race record of six wins and a further 14 minors through his 27 career starts so far and arguably finds the 2015 Warrnambool Cup in career-best form to date, having finished no worse than third in six races since January.

Having begun his racing career under the guidance of leading British trainer Sir Michael Stoute, Tall Ship has won five of eleven competitive starts; finishing in the minors on one other occasion.

Ladbrokes.com.au is currently offering the best 2015 Warrnambool Cup odds, for which Tall Ship has been instilled as outright $3.40 favourite following notable attention from punters, while Tooleybuc Kid arguably offers the best value for money at a $6 quote.
